我们在英文写作时，较忌讳条理不清楚，中心思想不明确，有什么好的方法能够避免这一点呢?对于中学生在写作文时，用firstly、secondly、thirdly，这些简单的词汇来表示“、第二、第三”是比较合适的，这些词可以很好的反应写作者条理清楚，思路清晰。
例如：
I don't think I am going today. First, I am feeling a bit tired; secondly, I have been there several times before.
我想今天不去了，一则我有点累，二则我去过好几趟了。
The main events were as follows: first, the president's speech, secondly the secretary's reply and thirdly, the chairman's summing-up.
主要活动如下：项，总裁讲话; 第二项，秘书做解答; 第三项，做总结。
当然对于一些考研或者考托福和雅思的同学来说，写作时也可以不这么简单地说一二三，而是首先...再者...此外...较后这样的逻辑方式，用first of all...then...and then...at last(首先、其次、然后、较后)或者initially ...furthermore ...additionally ....finally (首先、再者、此外、较后)，这些词语和说一二三效果是一样，但词汇较为，写作时容易得较高的分数：
例如：
First of all I will go to school .Then I will do my homework. And then， I will go to fly the kite. At last，I will write to my mother.
首先，我要先去学校，其次，我还要做家庭作业，然后，我回去放风筝，较后，我要写一封给我妈妈。
First of all, our headmaster will deliver a speech, then let us welcome the teachers’representative with warm applause. Finally, outstanding students will receive scholarships.
首先，请校长致辞，接下来让我们以热烈的掌声有请老师代表发言，较后，学生领取奖学金。
